Sand Names’ founder, Doug Palmer, saw inspirational gold in the sand that surrounded him. Armed with a four-foot bamboo stick and a camera, he set out to put that beauty and inspiration into the hands of those who couldn’t enjoy it every day like he could. The result of Palmer’s ingenuity was SandNames.com, an online portal where romantics can score a one-of-a-kind, personalized gift that can’t be had anywhere else in the world. Upon request, Palmer heads to the beach, carves specific names and dates in the sand, snaps a photo of the scene – with the perfect waves in the background – and voila. By personally creating each of his works of art by hand, he can guarantee their uniqueness.
