Like I always say, our baker is the best in Tennessee. Best tasting cakes, best designs, best of it ALL! Here are some cakes that she has made outside of wedding cakes. These are all "party" cakes... Enjoy!
The quality is not so great b/c these are all from my phone. Sorry!

Winter Weddings

Although only a small percentage of weddings are held in the winter, there are still many great ways to make your event sparkle! My favorite is the Winter Wonderland theme. Using crystal, silver, and white is the best way to pull off this effect. You may also want to add in some ice blue or tiffany blue with lighting, attire, and linens. For centerpieces, using white florals and branches are a great option. You can also hang crystals from the branches. For your chairs, I recommend using the Chivari ICE chairs. They are clear and look great for a winter wonderland setup!

Some other options are sprinkling in green or red if you are going for a holiday theme. You have to be careful when using reds/greens though because you do not want to overdo it.

Another suggestion that I have is using shimmery olive green for your maid's dresses and deep, dark red flowers with some crystal accents for the bouquets for some added bling!

Fall Weddings

A few facts about fall weddings...
14% of weddings take place in September, the most popular month for weddings.
12% of weddings take place in October, the third most popular month.
6% of weddings take place in November, which ranks ninth in popularity.

A few tips for choosing the color scheme for your fall wedding...

When searching for fall wedding ideas, what do we usually find? ...Fall-themed weddings including pumpkins and lots of browns/reds/oranges/goldens, right? There is nothing wrong with that, it just seems as if alot of my fall brides this year are trying to get away... ok, run away, from that.

Here are some great ways to put a great spin on the oh-so-traditional fall orange themes:

So, if you do not want a fall wedding that mimics the season's colors and outdoors, try using one of these themes: 1-Jewel colors: Emerald, amethyst, sapphire, turquoise, ruby, topaz; 2-Add in peacock feathers to a great deep shade (dark teal, navy, plum, or deep ruby). This will add in navy, turquoise, blue, green, copper, brown and gold instantly, which are all great fall hues. 3-Think Morrocan! Add in rich, deep colors with some gold accents.

Summer Weddings

A few facts about summer weddings...
13% of weddings take place in June, the second most popular month for weddings.
10% of weddings take place in July, the fifth most popular month.
11.5% of weddings take place in August, which ranks fourth in popularity.
A few tips for choosing the color scheme for your summer wedding...
Fun: Think outdoor wedding, mulit-colored paper lanterns, string lights, pool maids's dresses with bright flowers, colorful candy Bar, and moonlit dancing with the smell of tropical flowers in the air... Viola! When it comes to a summer soiree, think BRIGHT COLORS! You can combine many different ones to make an awesome color scheme for your wedding.

Retro: Red and Teal. Love this look! I have never seen these colors together at a wedding and I came across it on the internet and I thought it was so unique and classic.

Traditional: Black, White... and Yellow! Throw in a bright color with black and white to put a fresh spin on traditional! Put your maids in a black and white print dress and have them carry large yellow bouquets.

Four Seasons...

Like most women, when I got engaged, I had my dress within days. I also had my location, guest list, color scheme, and everything else within days... Ahh, the perks of being a wedding planner!
Ok...so, I know that I had a great advantage in this situation. ;)
So, this week, I want to write about how to make the choices that will help to tie the perfect bow on the top of the best gift that you will ever experience... your wedding day.
Most women, when they get engaged, they already have at least one of these three things decided. Most have one decided way before an engagement was ever even thought of. ;)
Color scheme, dress, and location... these all three need to complement each other in a way that is very unique and a way that conveys an appropriate mood, as well as your personalities.
My first purchase was my dress. An original Julius Bridal creation... stunning and custom made just for me!
This dress set the tone for my entire wedding. I had to select the location to "fit" this dress. See, you cannot get married outside in a dress like this. I had to find a gorgeous church... and I did! We were married in a church with floor to ceiling stained glass windows all the way up the aisle. A perfect fit. Next, I chose the colors. My dress was a bit deeper than champagne, so I had to be careful when selecting my maids's dresses. I chose a chocolate brown dress from David's Bridal in a pick-up style just like mine.
Now, it was time to choose the accent color. That was an easy one. Baby pink. Now, I had my timeless color palette... champagne, chocolate brown, and baby pink. Later, I added a little bit of icy lime green into the maids's bouquets for a little flair.
There are so many options when it comes to your color palette. Honestly, I feel colors are a huge choice. It will convey a certain "wedding" personality, if you will, to all of your guests. It will also help "theme" the wedding and other events having to do with your wedding, like all of the wonderful showers.

This week, there will be four posts. Each will convey a certain season. Within each season, I will give a few tips for for your color palette. It is best to choose one that goes with the mood that you want to set for your big day. Think about the guest list and the time of day that your ceremony will be held. The first post will be tomorrow and the season will be the current one of: Summer!
When your wedding planning begins, remember this: You need to choose one of these three things first (colors, location, dress), because they all need to complement each other for an unforgettable wedding day. An image that will be in the minds of all in attendance for years to come. Need help choosing a color scheme, location, or dress? Email me for advice anytime @ idoweddingstn@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
